Originally established as Choice Home Loans Toowoomba, Real Choice Finance was founded by Vince Ernst—a trusted name in mortgage broking known for his integrity and deep industry knowledge.
Today, the legacy continues under the leadership of Libby Ernst, our Director. Mentored and trained by Vince himself, Libby brings a fresh, modern approach while holding strong to the core values the business was built on. Together, we blend experience and innovation to deliver financial solutions that truly serve our clients.
Libby, known as The Barefoot 5D Broker, is a second-generation mortgage broker with over a decade of experience—and real results to back it up. She’s helped hundreds of people buy their first home, upgrade, or invest—not just by crunching numbers, but by helping them see what’s actually possible.
At 22, she bought her first home. Four years later, she sold it for a 50% return. Now, she’s preparing to secure multiple investment properties as she builds her own portfolio.
Raised in the industry, Libby wasn’t handed a thing. In fact, she left the family business more than once, as she never wanted to take advantage of the family business opportunity, and knew she was destined for more. The turning point came when she overheard someone giving terrible advice to someone she genuinely wanted to see succeed. It hit her: people don’t know what she knows, and they really need to.
Since then, Libby’s gone all in. She’s invested over $100K into her personal and professional growth, mentored by self-made multi-millionaires who work when, where, and how they want. Now, as a mobile broker, Commissioner for Declarations, and Light Codes™️ practitioner, she blends strategy and energy to help clients break through limiting beliefs and make powerful financial moves.

Vince started Real Choice Finance in 1997 after leaving the big banks. He was tired of watching clients get pushed into products just to meet sales targets. He knew there were better options, and he wanted to offer real solutions without the pressure.
Since then, he’s helped thousands of people into homeownership and investment, building strong relationships not just with clients, but across generations of families. He’s also built trusted partnerships with real estate agents, accountants, and local businesses across the Darling Downs.
Vince has owned his home for years and built a solid portfolio of investment properties along the way. He’s mentored four mortgage brokers into successful careers, received multiple industry awards, and helped many people break free from the banks when he saw they were getting trapped by the system.
He’s passed his knowledge on to his daughter Libby, supporting her both personally and professionally, and helped build a local business networking group to connect and grow the community.
With nearly 30 years as a broker and 50 years in finance, Vince is a master of his craft. Now in a part-time role, he’s proud to support the next chapter of Real Choice Finance, and excited to see the next generation continue the legacy he’s built.
